Terminal Server
Increasingly businesses are multi-location or have employees working from home offices. A terminal server provides users to access all the resources on the network back in the office frm literally any computer anywhere in the world. The terminal server presents the user with a "virtual desktop" that is identical to the one in the office with similar levels of the performance. Since only the screen graphics are being uploaded and downloaded security and performance are superior to other remote access strategies. Also, there is no need to dedicate a PC at the office for each remote user. Larger businesses often have two terminal servers for extra capacity and full redundancy.
